Until recently I was always throwing away produce that had gone bad, until I discovered Rubbermaid® FreshWorks™ Food Storage containers. I found Rubbermaid FreshWorks in the food storage aisle at my local Kroger. There is no telling how much money I have wasted over the years by not storing my veggies and fruit in these containers. The containers are sized for optimal storage of most commonly purchased produce. I stored mushrooms and strawberries separately in the FreshWorks medium size containers for about a week. I also stored blueberries for over a week inside a small FreshWorks container before preparing them for one of my favorite Spinach Salad Recipes.
The Rubbermaid FreshWorks Food Storage containers have some great features. The patented membrane naturally regulates the flow of O2 and CO2 and never requires replacement. Also the lid, container, and tray are dishwasher safe and BPA free. The Crisp Tray™ keeps produce elevated above moisture to prevent premature spoiling. When I took my produce out of the containers they looked as fresh as the day I bought them!
To make this fresh Spinach Salad you will need the following:
- 5 cups spinach
- 2/3 cup sliced strawberries
- 2/3 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegarette
Add all ingredients in the order above into a medium sized serving bowl. Then toss, serve, and enjoy!
