Happy Thanksgiving! One of our family’s favorite events is happening today, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and although we have never been to it in person, it is definitely on our bucket list. One float we don’t want to miss is the Kalahari Resort’s float, the “Colossal Wave of Wonder.”

Last year we partnered with Kalahari Resorts to spread the word on their float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade (check it out here) and this year we are excited to partner with them again. Kalahari is an African themed resort with locations in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Sandusky, Ohio, the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, and Round Rock, Texas. They have a ton of things for the whole family to enjoy on property including well-appointed guest rooms, full-service Spa Kalahari, a fun-filled family entertainment center, on-site signature restaurants, unique retail shops and a state-of-the-art convention center and are home to America’s largest indoor waterparks.

For several years we have talked about taking an overnight trip to the island and we finally got around to doing it! Our home in Friendswood is only a 30-minute drive from Galveston. Since we have a dog, it was always easier to take day-trips, so we didn’t have to worry about boarding her or having to pay enormous hotel pet fees. That has all changed since we discovered Red Roof. Unlike other hotels, Red Roof loves pets!
