A Few Necessities For Our Family’s Summer Travel

Gift Ideas/ Travel

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com.

Our family has been traveling a lot this summer. We have pretty much traveled from coast to coast. I am even writing this post while I am on vacation with my family in Los Angeles. All that being said, I have a lot of experience traveling, especially with kids. To make summer travel a little less stressful there are certain items that we always pack with me. A few of these I also keep in my car when we are not traveling, as they can come in handy even when we are close to home. These items include Hanes Ultimate Xtemp/FreshIQ TeesUltraSwim Chlorine Removal ShampooMedipro First Aid Pods From me4kidz, and Maglite® Solitaire LED & Mini Maglite® Pro LED Read more

POP! Portable Baby Products From Summer Infant

Baby Gadgets/ Travel

Before I had kids, I traveled all the time. I loved being spontaneous by taking last minute trips with little time for preparation.  Now that I have kids, I still love to travel, but traveling with kids is a lot harder. I have to do a lot of planning beforehand and make lists of everything that needs to be packed. With one child the list wasn’t too bad, but now that I have two, one being an infant, the list is a lot longer. Since McKenna is a toddler, she doesn’t need that much. Rylan, who is seven months old, is a whole other story. Babies need a lot of stuff to keep them comfortable. If I could load up the car with every baby gadget we had for her, I would, but that is not realistic. So, when it comes to packing items for her on our trips, I have to be strategic. I always bring items that can be folded and stored easily and can serve multiple purposes. So for our trip to the beach for the 4th of July, which is coming up in a few weeks, I knew that items from Summer Infant’s Pop! collection would meet these criteria. My Haven Riviera Cancun Review #HavenIsHere

Fashion/ Travel

Over the Easter break, my husband, Randy, and I spent an amazing four nights at Haven Riviera Cancun, a new all-inclusive resort in Mexico. We took the trip to celebrate our one-year anniversary, which was in February. It was also our first kid-free trip since the birth of our youngest daughter, Rylan, who was born in November. I had several of you reach out about details on our stay, so I am excited to share a full review of Haven Riviera Cancun!

First off, we love visiting Riviera Maya because of the warm weather, amazing beaches, and the quick flight from Houston. We have been to this area before and always look forward to returning. As we have experienced with our prior visits to the area, most resorts with spacious properties surrounded by lush Mexican vegetation require you to travel a long distance from the airport. This was not the case with Haven.

For this trip, upon arriving at the Cancun airport, we were greeted by our driver from Amstar. Haven recommended Amstar, so I booked private airport transfers through them. Amstar is the transportation partner of the resort and they have a desk in the lobby of the resort where you can also book excursions once you arrive. Our experience with Amstar was great! They were on time, friendly, and professional and we understand why Haven has them as a partner.

My Unconventional Babymoon to Sandestin, FL

Baby Gadgets/ Fashion/ Travel

If you follow me on Instagram, then you would know that I was at the beach last week to celebrate my close friend, Brittany Dugas’ birthday. She was nice enough to open up her condo in Sandestin, FL to me and a few other girls for the occasion. Since I didn’t take a babymoon with my husband, this trip turned into my unconventional babymoon.

At 33 weeks pregnant, I was no longer able to travel by plane per my doctor’s orders. I ended up driving to Baton Rouge, LA to drop of McKenna with my parents before I made my way to Mandeville, LA to meet Brittany and another one of my friends for the drive to Sandestin. Since the drive from Houston to Sandestin is a total of 8-9 hours, so I was thankful that Brittany was able to drive part of the way. Read more
