This post is sponsored by General Mills. All opinions are mine alone.

Growing up I remember going to the store, specifically Walmart, with my mom and her shopping for items with the Box Tops for Education logo. Who can relate? She did this because she wanted to help make some money for my school, but to do so she had to cut out each Box Top and send them with me to school. This process was tedious, to say the least, but totally worth it because she was helping my school. Although Box Tops for Education is still around, the time of clipping box tops is becoming a thing of the past because I have some exciting news, Box Tops for Education has gone Digitial!

For those who are not familiar with Box Tops for Education, let me give you a little background. Box Tops for Education started in California in 1996. General Mills wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools – and so, Box Tops for Education was born. The program was such a huge success that by 1998 it expanded nationwide to over 30,000 schools. By clipping Box Tops and earning cash, schools were able to buy the things they needed like books, computers, playground equipment and more. By 2004, over 82,000 schools across the nation participated in Box Tops, earning more than $100 million. In 2006 Box Tops had expanded to brands outside of food. You can find Box Tops on hundreds of products throughout the grocery store and online. Some of the brands that you can find Box Tops on include General Mills, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Nestle Waters, Paper Mate and Lysol.  Today, America’s schools have earned over $913 million. That’s a lot of dough!

In preparation for back to school, I took my daughters with me to Walmart to pick up products by General Mills and their partners with the Box Tops for Education symbol. Plus Walmart has an exclusive Double Box Tops offer from now until September 8! So for every Box Top you purchase you get a Bonus Box Top! Walmart was always the store our family went to for back to school supplies and snacks. Walking up and down the Walmart aisles with my girls, I was feeling nostalgic since this was something I used to do with my mom. McKenna was so excited to help me shop for the items on my shopping list which included:

  • Mott’s Fruit Flavored Snacks Assorted Fruit 40ct
  • Lucky Charms Family Size
  • Yoplait Go-GURT ST/CC 16CT
  • Totino’s Pizza Rolls 120CT PEP
  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch Family Size
  • Nestle Pure Life Water 35pk/.5L
  • Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens 22 Count
  • Lysol Disinfectant Wipes Lemon 80ct

Once we put each item into the shopping cart, McKenna would race over to see how quickly she could find the Box Tops for Education logo, so it was fun for her! Once we marked everything off of our shopping list, we checked out and headed home.

Earn Double Box Tops at Walmart (Valid 6/24-9/8/2019)

To be able to take advantage of the digital Box Tops for Education program, you need to download the Box Tops for Education application on your phone. Once you download the app, you will be required to create an account and select your child’s school so they can make sure the money you earn is going to the correct school. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. Then you will need to scan your Walmart receipt from the app. Once the scan is done, the application processes it and confirms how much you earned for your designated school on that shopping trip. Talk about efficient!

If you haven’t started collecting Box Tops for Education for your children’s school, right now is a great time to start! Be sure to head to Walmart for all of your back to school needs and don’t forget to purchase items with the Box Tops for Education logo!
