Reese Heart to Heart Grilled Chicken Salad

Food

This is a Sponsored Post on behalf of Reese Specialty Foods – all opinions shared are my own. #Sponsored #ReeseSpecialtyFoods #HeartToHeartKitchen

I love salads. I grew up preferring to eat them over anything else. I have tried many, many different types of salads, and have spent hours in my kitchen combining various ingredients to make up new ones. All that being said, this is one of my favorite salads I have ever made. I call this salad the Heart to Heart Grilled Chicken Salad because it contains Reese Hearts of Palm and Reese Artichoke Hearts. I enjoy using both of these ingredients in salads, and they also taste great on pizza. This salad is very filling and great for parties. I like to pair it with a glass of crisp, white wine.

Until recently I was always throwing away produce that had gone bad, until I discovered Rubbermaid® FreshWorks™ Food Storage containers. I found Rubbermaid FreshWorks in the food storage aisle at my local Kroger. There is no telling how much money I have wasted over the years by not storing my veggies and fruit in these containers. The containers are sized for optimal storage of most commonly purchased produce. I stored mushrooms and strawberries separately in the FreshWorks medium size containers for about a week. I also stored blueberries for over a week inside a small FreshWorks container before preparing them for one of my favorite Spinach Salad Recipes. Read more

Food

“Down in New Orleans, where the blues was born. It takes a cool cat to blow a horn. On LaSalle and Rampart Street, the combo’s there with a mambo beat. The Mardi Gras mambo, mambo, mambo. Party Gras mambo, mambo, mambo. Mardi Gras mambo, ooh. Down in New Orleans…” – Mardi Gras Mambo

Now when I hear the Mardi Gras Mambo, I think of Mardi Gras, and of course King Cake. Since I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, only a one hour drive away from New Orleans, I grew up going to Mardi Gras Parades and eating King Cake. I enjoy eating King Cake because it is such a sweet treat. Recently I was challenged by OREO as part of the “My OREO Creation Contest” to come up with my own unique flavor. So I decided to combine my love for King Cakes and OREO’s into one bite of deliciousness. The King Cake OREO would be a Cinnamon cookie on the outside, and a creamy cream cheese flavored inside; including layers of purple, gold, and green in honor of Mardi Gras’ colors. Read more

Who loves a good a date night? I know I do, but I also know that date night can be expensive. Between paying for a sitter and a dinner plus whatever activity we may decide to do, the costs can add up very quickly. Even though I don’t normally pay for date night, I still feel like that money can be spent better in other ways. However, it is still important to have alone time to connect with your significant. With that being said, I have decided to come up with some ideas for a low key date night at home. I figured since my boyfriend always treats me for date night, I will treat him this time. Read more
