Oh man, this year is flying by! I felt like I blinked and it was already November which means next month is Christmas! While I love the holidays, the preparation beforehand can be somewhat stressful. Since I like to stay ahead of the game by doing my Christmas shopping early, I wanted to put together McKenna’s 2018 Holiday Toy Wish List to help those who are not so prepared. The best part is, all of these toys are available at Kohl’s!
In addition to Christmas, McKenna’s birthday also falls in the month of December, December 17th to be exact. When I asked her if she wanted to help me pick out toys from Kohl’s, of course, she said “YES!” We looked online to see what was available. We also took a trip to our local Kohl’s, because what kid doesn’t want to be able to look at and play with every toy in the store?! After what seemed like hours in the toy section, McKenna picked out her favorites, and also made recommendations on what we should purchase this holiday season for her cousins.
Kohls carries a lot of various toy brands, so for this post, I am going to feature five of our favorites, Melissa and Doug, Fisher-Price, Hot Wheels, Disney Princess, and LEGO. You are also able to buy online and pick up in store and redeem Kohl’s Cash from your purchases.
Like almost every other three-year-old girl, McKenna is Disney Princess-obsessed. She can name every Disney Princess, and their pets, evil stepmothers, princes, you name it. She loves watching Beauty & the Beast, both the cartoon version and the more recently released live version. When she saw the Disney Princess Light & Twist Wheelies Tower by Little People she said she “had to have it.” For those of you unfamiliar with Little People, they are made by Fisher-Price. McKenna started receiving Little People toys and accessories as gifts when she turned one, and she loves to play with them. They make great gifts for children ages 1-5.
Since McKenna loves to help me cook, she gravitated to all of the Melissa & Doug cooking items. Melissa & Doug makes a slew of toys for pretend play, and also makes the cutest dress-up clothes. To make McKenna feel like a true chef she selected the Melissa & Doug Cutting Food Set and the Let’s Play House! Stainless Steel Pots & Pans. Since no chef would be complete without the proper attire, she also picked out the Melissa & Doug Chef Costume.
Like I mentioned before, McKenna loves Disney Princesses, so she basically wanted everything, Disney Princess. After some going back and forth, she decided on the Disney Princess Rapunzel Play-Doh Royal Salon. With this toy, she is able to grow out Rapunzel’s hair made of Play-Doh, create hair accessories from Play-Doh, and even cut the hair. I also plan to go back to Kohl’s to buy the Disney Princess Rapunzel Pop-Up Palace for McKenna’s birthday.
For her boy cousins, she suggested we look at Hot Wheels because they are a classic. The Hot Wheels Auto Lift Expressway with diecast cars and Hot Wheels City Attack Pack with track and cars are both exclusive to Kohl’s. Either one of these would be a great choice for a boy or even a girl for the holidays.
Last, but not least we had to look at LEGOs. McKenna loves to put things together and so do her cousins, so naturally, LEGOs are an easy choice. With LEGOs available for ages 1-14, they offer a wide variety of options. There is LEGO Jurassic World Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit Set for the dinosaur lover, and for the Harry Potter fans, they carry the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall Set.
Have you started shopping for the holidays yet? If so what is number one on your children’s wish list?
