Preparing Our Guest Bedroom For Holiday Visitors

Both my husband and I were born and raised in Louisiana, but we now reside in Houston, TX. When it comes time for any major holiday we end up always having to travel to Louisiana to celebrate the occasion. This year the Thanksgiving holidays will be a little different for us since we are adding another member to our family. Our second child, Rylan, is due November 17. With that being said, our families will be traveling to Houston to stay with us and celebrate Thanksgiving. To make sure they feel comfortable during their stay with us, I have already started to prepare our guest bedroom by adding new bedding from Kohl’s.

Since the weather will be getting cooler soon, I decided to go with several layers of bedding. For the first layer, I kept it simple by choosing white sheets by The Big One. The Big One Easy Care 275 Thread Count Sheet Set is very soft and durable. They also fit snugly on my queen-sized mattress.

For the next layer, I chose a gray fleece blanket by Cuddl Duds. Growing up my mom used to always put a fleece sheet on our bed during winter, so it reminds me of home. The Cuddl Duds Polartec Fleece Blanket was such a great price, so in addition to gray, I also bought it in ivory.

For the top layer, I went with a Serta Faux Fur Sherpa Reversible Comforter Set. This luxurious comforter comes in two color choices, chocolate and gray. As you can see, I went with gray. The comforter is also reversible so you can flip it over so that the Sherpa side shows if you want to change things up. It is also so soft, so I know my guests will enjoy this new comforter.

To make sure my guests are extra comfortable I also purchased pillows by Cuddl Duds. The Cuddl Duds Firm UltraFeather Down Pillows are fluffy but still offer great support. They come in both standard and king size options and are also machine washable.
