Where did all of the Purina® Beggin’ treats go? I think I have a clue! At our house, our dog, Romy, loves her treats. Romy, who is a three year old Yorkshire terrier, is an important member of our family. We love her very much, and we like to give her treats for being such a great dog. Since we were running low on food and treats, it was time for us to head to our local PetSmart to restock!
Being that Dallas is a pet-friendly city, we take her everywhere with us, including PetSmart. She even travels by air with us when we go on vacation. To make sure she lives a balanced life, her nutrition and exercise are important to our family. That is why we turn to Purina. Everyday when I get home from work we like to take walks around the neighborhood. I push the stroller and Romy walks beside us. Since she is so small, weighing a whopping four pounds, she hops into the basket below the stroller when she gets tired of walking. She also rides in the basket when we go shopping. It’s “her” spot. People think we got the basket custom made for her, but it actually came with the stroller. Whenever people see her riding in there, she always gets lot of compliments and attention.
While at PetSmart we purchased Purina Beneful dog food and Purina Beggin’ treats. Since we have several friends who have dogs in their family, we bought a few extra bags of the Beggin’ treats for their dogs so we could spend $40 on Purina to get a $10 PetSmart gift card. Now exactly how do you get a $10 PetSmart gift card? Well, for the month of June, if you spend $40 or more on Purina’s brand of products in a single transaction, you can upload your receipt via this link to receive a $10 PetSmart gift card in the mail as part of the Purina Codeword campaign. You have until 7/9/2017 to upload your receipt.
Here are a few other ways we spend time with Romy around our city:
- Bicycling – My parents got me a bicycle for my birthday last year, and they even bought a basket for the front. When we are cruising around Uptown Dallas you can find Romy riding in the basket and enjoying every minute of it.
- Dog Park – Dallas has no shortage of dog parks, and if Romy has her way, we will try them all. Even though she is so little she doesn’t realize it, and always wants to play with the dogs that are five times her size.
- Pool Time – Now that it is summer, we like to cool off by the pool. Lucky for us, a few of my friends have nice pools. They frequently invite our family, including Romy, over for some fun in the sun. Romy may be a Yorkie, but she jumps in the pool like a Labrador Retriever.
- Patio Chilling – Being that Dallas is so dog friendly, there are lots of restaraunts that allow you to bring your dog with you while you enjoy food and drinks on their patio. Our usual spot is Katy Trail Icehouse, where we like to relax after walks on the Katy Trail.
We are always looking for dog friendly patios and dog parks in the Dallas, TX area. If you know of any we should check out I would love to hear about them. It’s always nice when we can taker her with us, instead of leaving her at home.

Living in SoCal, going into warm months I hate leaving my dog at home- I always worry about how comfortable she will be, even with a controlled climate. Then again, it’s also a challenge to find dog friendly, cool, places to bring her. She ‘s not quite 4 lbs, but her 7lbs fits in a doggie backpack she quite loves! #client
