Sitting Made Simple

A few weeks ago I was invited to the Sitting Made Simple Pamper and Play Party at the Bliss Spa inside the W Dallas – Victory Hotel. This party was to celebrate the launch of Dallas’s newest babysitting service, Sitting Made Simple, which will officially launch on September 26, 2016. Dallas’s SMS franchise owner, Ashley Huston, invited several bloggers from the DFW area to the event. I got to mingle with some of these amazing ladies and talk about something we had in common, our children. As part of the party we were given the option of an Oxygen Blast facial, a Rapid Rub massage, or a Reflexology foot treatment. I chose to get the Rapid Rub Targeted Massage, because let’s face it, toting around a toddler is not easy on your back. The 30 minute massage was amazing and I walked out smelling like Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter. I definitely want to do it again!

As another part of the launch, participants were allowed to bring their children with them. Some of the local sitters and the founder of SMS watched the children play while the moms were getting pampered i.e. the Pamper and Play Party. This was a nice way for the moms to utilize the service. I did not bring McKenna with me because I had to rush to my day job after, but I did peak in on the kids and they looked like they were having a blast!

So what exactly is Sitting Made Simple? SMS is a scheduling service that allows the parents to book a sitter of their choosing online whenever they are needed. They have locations in Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Indianapolis, and Nashville. This service is especially great for those last minute childcare needs. I find that I always need a sitter at the most inopportune times. Needless to say, this service will come in very handy for me! All sitters are required to have the following:

• A thorough personal interview with Sitting Made Simple
• A childcare background, with all references checked.
• Possess and maintain a clean driving record.
• Complete, pass and maintain a clean background check.
• Certified in Infant & Child CPR

There is a one-time initiation fee as well as a booking fee paid directly to SMS each time you reserve a sitter. Hourly rates start at just $12, which is paid directly to your babysitter.
