Mommy and Me Monday – LSU Football Jerseys

Fashion/ Little Me and Free/ Mommy and Me Monday

McKenna and I recently spent the weekend in Baton Rouge, LA. We flew down there to visit my family and to attend the LSU Homecoming festivities. Since I love to dress up with McKenna, we wore our purple LSU football jerseys and our Stan Smith Tiger Print Adidas, which were the feature of this Mommy and Me Monday post. My mom was with us for game day so she got in on the action and wore her purple LSU football jersey as well!

My family and I went to LSU campus early Saturday morning because my dad was cooking jambalaya for his company’s tailgate. He makes the jambalaya from scratch in a cast iron pot so it takes several hours for it to be prepared. While my dad was cooking, my mom and I loaded McKenna in her wagon to walk to the Delta Zeta house and catch the LSU Homecoming parade. This was McKenna’s first parade experience and she loved every minute of it! She was definitely a natural when it came to waving and picking up her throws. She even managed to catch some tiger ears to match her tiger tail.

We managed to find one of my old pics in the DZ house.

After the parade on sorority row we walked to the DZ house, which was my college sorority. For homecoming week all of the sororities pomp chicken wire with tissue in cool designs and decorate the houses for the festivities. The current members welcome their families to the house to have a tour and mingle with their chapter and its alum. I got to see several of the ladies that were active during my time in Delta Zeta and of course take pictures with McKenna and my mom in front of the house.

After our adventure on sorority row, McKenna was worn out! She fell asleep in the wagon as we walked back to the tailgate. After we made it back to the tailgate, we ate jambalaya and enjoyed some cocktails. My parents decided not to go to the game, so they took McKenna home and I went to the game with one of my best friends. LSU had just fired their coach, Les Miles, the week of the game. They surprisingly won the game against Missouri 42-7, with interim coach, Ed Orgeron.

McKenna and I both had an awesome day with our family and rooting for the Tigers. I look forward to our next trip back to Baton Rouge for an LSU game. Hopefully next time McKenna will have enough energy to make it to the game. GEAUX Tigers!
