Last weekend I went to one of my favorite cities in the U.S., New York City! I actually used to work there when I was a consultant, and made a lot of friends who still live there. I was only there for a two nights, but I made the most of my time in the Big Apple.
I wore my new and super comfy Gucci fur slippers. I have always wanted to wear slippers on the flight, but didn’t want to be that girl that looked like she was wearing her pajamas on the plane. These were that solution! I landed at LaGuardia Airport on Friday afternoon. I took an Uber straight to midtown where my best friend and her hubby reside. They were my generous hosts for the weekend. After catching up with them I got ready for a work event I had later. The event was a dinner cruise. It took place on the Hudson River on a boat called the Hornblower Infinity (not-joking).
On Saturday, it was girls’ day out. A group of 15 of us took a limo, because some wineries do not allow buses, to go wine tasting. I have been to Napa, which was lovely, but I had no clue what to expect wine tasting in Long Island New York. It was about a two-hour drive to get to the North Fork of Long Island so we left early in the morning. We went to three wineries, Bedell Cellars, Lenz Winery, and Osprey’s Dominion. Bedell was the most similar to a Napa winery and they had a really good chardonnay. The other two wineries had picnic tables and lots of outdoor space. Osprey’s Dominion had a band playing a mixture of rock and country music. There were lots of people having picnics and enjoying the great weather that day.
After we got back to the city I accompanied my friend and her husband to a party in Tribeca. Then we met met friends in Soho for some cocktails. On Sunday, it was time to go back to home, after enjoying a delicious brunch at Felix, I caught a ride with my boss and a few of my other coworkers back to Dallas! Thanks NYC for another great experience. I can’t wait to go back in December!
