Well we are officially in week two of the New Year and I still haven’t gone to the gym. I have however been making healthier meal choices and going to bed earlier which has attributed to me losing four pounds so far this year. 🙂 Hopefully I can kick my butt into gear and go to the gym soon. Unfortunately, Dallas doesn’t have many gyms that offer childcare in my area, so being a single parent; I will have to try to find time to go to the gym during my lunch breaks. I will keep you posted on how that goes. Until I can shed more of my holiday pounds I am going to continue to wear darker colors. Which led me to choosing this bell sleeve black dress, which is perfect for date night.
This dress is loose fitting with some flowy bell sleeves. At first I was unsure of how I felt about bell sleeves because all I could think about was pictures of my mom from the 70’s, but now I am gravitating towards everything with a bell sleeve. The skirt on this dress is more of an A-line so it accentuates your waist, and makes you look thinner. I am all about covering up my extra pounds any way I can, especially if I don’t have to wear tights to do it. Now this dress would look awesome with tights, like these, but it was pretty warm the day I shot these pics, and didn’t feel like sweating. 🙂
This dress is less than $25, and although it is from Forever 21, I feel like you can dress it up with nice accessories to make it look like you just paid top dollar for it at Bergdorf’s. I have always been a firm believer that if you wear higher quality accessories you can make an outfit from Wal-Mart look like high fashion.
I paired my dress with some suede peep toes shoes, and my LV Clutch, and I wore my gold arrowhead earrings to tie into the gold accents my purse. You can find a cheaper version of my shoes here, and also less expensive versions of my purse here and here.
Make sure to follow me on Instagram, as I will be posting lots of Instastories with McKenna this weekend. We are taking a road trip to Houston! Also if you have haven’t subscribed to my blog yet you can go here to do so!
Have a great week!
