Well, it officially feels like summertime here in Texas. It has been in the 90’s the past few weeks and boy is it HOT! To help cool down from the summer heat, I installed Midea’s New U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner.

To give you a little background, our home is three stories with central air conditioning that works great, but to cut down on our energy bill I decided installing this AC unit would be a good option at the entry of our home. There happens to be a front door and back door in the entry of our home so with guests and kids going in and out all the time, our air conditioner is constantly running in that zone to keep the area cool.

So what makes this window air conditioner so awesome?

  • It has a unique u-shaped design – Unlike other window AC units, U’s patented u-shaped design allows unparalleled flexibility. The compact u-shaped design of the Midea U enables the window to open and close normally so users can get fresh air whenever they need it.
  • It looks natural and modern/chic – As you can see it looks like it was custom made for this window.
  • Installation is easy and quick – First, users install the included quick-snap bracket. Second, set the unit on the bracket. Finally, secure the adjustable sidearms and close the window. And don’t worry about security – the window is secured by an anti-theft mechanism while closed.
  • It has a flexible window opening – Ability to open/close window when the unit is in place – The compact u-shaped design of the Midea U enables the window to open and close normally so users can get fresh air whenever they need it.
  • It is extremely quiet/Blocks outside noise – Midea U’s unique design also blocks outside noise, as well as compressor sounds. This allows for ultra-quiet operation as low as 42dBA which is almost as quiet as a library, and a lot quieter than most window units.

As I mentioned before installation was quick and easy. Even with two little ones who wanted to “help,” I was able to install the entire unit myself except for the part where I had to remove the unit from the box and place it on the bracket. Luckily, my husband was there to help me out for that part. Check out the time-lapse video below to see the full install.

In addition to all these great features, the unit also comes with a remote control, or you can connect it to WiFi so it can be controlled through Midea’s Smart App. It can also be controlled via voice command because it is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.

The Midea U Inverter Window Air Conditioner comes in three sizes, 8,000 BTU, 10,000 BTU, and 12,000 BTU. They can all be purchased from Amazon.com and eligible for Amazon Prime. I received the 8,000 BTU size. If you are interested in trying out Midea’s U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner be sure to take advantage of the amazing deal below!

As you can see my girls, McKenna and Rylan, and even our pup, Romy, were very excited about the new addition. I look forward to seeing lower energy bills in the future and keeping the first floor of our home cooled down with Midea’s U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner.
