#ItsAColorfulLife: Let’s Cook Up Some Fun

Food/ Recipes

I am so excited to share my July #ItsAColorfulLife post with you guys! If you have been following along with me this summer, you know I am doing a series of It’s A Colorful Life post featuring various flavors of Tampico juices. In the month of May which you can read here, we took a family MayCation to my brother’s pool. Last month, we took a bike ride around our neighborhood, so we could explore the outdoors.

This post is one of my favorites because I am cooking up some fun in the kitchen with Tampico juice. July’s flavor is Tropical Punch, which is oh so yummy and contains only 30 calories per serving. To help beat the Texas heat, I will be creating a frozen drink that I have named the Tropicolada.

This drink is sure to be a hit with the kids this summer and even the adults! It’s got a delicious and fruity taste. After one sip you will feel like you have been transported to a tropical island. To make this drink, my trusty helper, McKenna, will be assisting me in the process!

To get started you will need a blender and the following ingredients:

Toppings

  • whipped cream
  • cherries
  • lime
  • orange
  • strawberries

Instructions:

  1. Cut off the tops of the pineapples and remove the insides. Set aside 1 cup for the blender.
  2. In your blender add the ice, pineapple, cream of coconut, banana, and Tropical Punch juice.
  3. Blend until the mixture is a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour mixture into hollowed-out pineapples.
  5. Top with whip cream and fruit.
  6. Add a straw and enjoy!

McKenna and I had so much fun creating the recipe and making this drink together. She thought it was so cool that we were using the pineapple shells as our cups. I think her favorite part was sneaking samples of all the ingredients before we put them in the blender. She sure does love her fruit! It is safe to say that this drink is kid-approved!

In addition to documenting our monthly experiences via blog posts, we are also creating a scrapbook to commemorate the fun! Since McKenna loves being creative, she has really enjoyed picking out the stickers and other items to add onto the pages. As you can see below, we have added lots of colorful pages to our scrapbook. I can’t wait to share what it looks like with you guys when it is done! Thanks for following with along with me, and don’t forget to stay tuned for next month’s post!
